Irish Outlaw triumphs at Show Me Something Great!

Ryan 'The Irish Outlaw' Coyne improved his spotless record to 17-0 on Saturday June 25th as he registered a tougher than expected unanimous decision victory over fellow undefeated 'King' David Mcnemar. Ryan was originally slated to challenge reigning WBA world champion Guillermo Jones, but Jones withdrew from the bout a week earlier, and Team Outlaw quickly secured the undefeated Mcnemar to provide Ryan with a tough test.

Both fighters stepped into the ring very fit and in tremendous shape. Both fighters started the initial rounds slow as neither charge new exactly what to expect from the other fighter. As the rounds progressed Ryan scored well to the body while Mcnemar looked to establish his jab.

The Irish Outlaw pulled ahead in the middle rounds as he started to establish his southpaw jab and and his body shots began to slow the pace of Mcnemar. Mcnemar accounted well for himself displaying a crisp jab of his own.

In the end Ryan's superior conditioning and heavier blows carried the scorecards as he picked up the unanimous 12 round decision in a battle that played out tougher than many expected. The well deserved victory capped off a whirl wind fight promotion that saw on again off again sagas play out through out training camp and up until fight week. To my fans:

First off, let me clarify any confusion. I'm fighting this Saturday, June 25th at The Family Arena. I will be defending my WBC US National title vs the undefeated David McNemar (13-0). McNemar is a rugged, tough opponent who is coming to put forth an exciting fight.

The originally scheduled world title fight versus Guillermo Jones was cancelled due to an injury Jones suffered last week at his training camp in Ohio. I poured my heart and soul into my 8 week training camp in Colorado to train for this fight and it is my hope that once Jones gets the necessary time to recover that my promoter, Don King, and management team will reschedule the bout in the near future.

Thank you to all my fans for their continued support and I look forward to putting on a championship effort with a spectacular result this Saturday night at the Family Arena!

DENVER—WBC-USNBC national cruiserweight champion Ryan Coyne joined his hometown-favorite Cardinals at pre-game batting practice on Saturday
at Coors Field in Denver before the Cards took on the Rockies. Coyne was lucky enough to spend some time at the cage with Major League Baseball’s three-time National League Most Valuable Player Albert Pujols.

They posed for photographers with Pujols landing “one on the kisser” of Coyne. Maybe Pujols should have enlisted Coyne to land a few punches on the Rockies’ before the game on Saturday as the home team went on to defeat the Cards 15-4.

Coyne has set up his camp in Colorado to gain the benefits of high-altitude training before making his first world title appearance on June 25 against defending WBA cruiserweight champion Guillermo Jones (37-3-2, 29 KOs), from Panama, at The Family Arena in St. Charles, Mo.

Coyne also is known for having fought into the semi-finals during the fourth season of The Contender,
televised on Versus, before suffering an accidental headbutt that forced him to leave the competition.

2011 is under way, and as the details are being worked out on Ryan's next fight, The Irish Outlaw is training at a fevered pitch. Ranked #7 by the World Boxing Association and #15 by the World Boxing Council, the reigning WBC U.S. National Champion was brought in to training camp by former world champion Michael Moorer who is now training undefeated Polish heavyweight contender Mariusz Wach (23-0).

Irish Outlaw hits Motown!

Team Irish Outlaw headed to the Motor City to support stablemate and fellow St. Louisan Devon Alexander 'The Great.' Like St. Louis, Detroit is a great fight city that has produced some of boxing's biggest legends including Sugar Ray Robinson, Joe Louis, and Tommy Hearns.
Trainer Jose Ponce, Ryan, and business advisor Mike Garrett kicked the week off by doing some training at the world famous Kronk Gym. Ryan's trademark quick hands and brutal bodywork were a big hit at the world renowned gym that produced Tommy 'The Hitman' Hearns.The press conference at Motor City Casino in downtown Detroit was led by legendary promoter Don King who at the young age of 79 continues to promote the biggest and best events that boxing has to offer.
The first big fight of 2011 brought out a who's who of boxing royalty to the Silverdome in Pontiac, MI which played host to the junior welterweight unification bout between Devon Alexander and Timothy Bradley broadcast worldwide on HBO.Some of the notable faces at ringside included Carl King and Tommy 'The Hitman' Hearns pictured above with Ryan, as well as boxing cult hero 'Drunken Master' Emmanuel Augustus, who as always, entertained the crowd in a spirited effort. While Devon ended up on the wrong side of a tough decision, it was an eventful weekend. Coyne annihilates Steele in 2 at 'Boxing in the Park!'

Ryan 'The Irish Outlaw' Coyne made a spectacular return to the ring on Saturday October 9th in the main event at the Dwight Davis Center in Forest Park. Ryan was featured in this special attraction 'Boxing in the Park' put on by Fight Night Promotions in association with Don King Productions.
Ryan entered the ring fueled by the support of the Irish community on an unseasonably beautiful evening in St. Louis that promised fireworks. Led into the ring by the Ancient Order of Hibernians, the spirit of the Irish faithful consumed the packed house.

Coyne, the reigning WBC U.S. National Champion, was making a swift return to the ring following his title winning effort just two months earlier at Don King's 'Gateway to Greatness' and looked to showcase his ever improving skill set in this showcase bout.

Opposite the Irish Outlaw was the rugged Shane 'Super Man' Steele. The rugged challenger from Louisville, KY looked to bring the fight to Coyne from the opening bell, but found out the hard way that he had chosen the wrong strategy as Coyne had no intentions of making it a long night.

Ryan came out guns blazing and immediately let Steele know he was by far the more physical fighter. Brutal body shots put the determined challenger on the canvas twice in the first round.
Steele bravely rose to his feet on both occasions at the count of 9 and indicated to referee Steve Smoger that he indeed wanted to continue, and survived the opening round.

Steele's survival, however, was short lived as the Irish Outlaw continued his full out blitz in the second stanza. A ferocious uppercut had Steele in serious trouble before Ryan punctuated the action with three concussive left hands that left the Man of Steel motionless on the canvas with his arm limply draped over the rope. Referee Steve Smoger immediately called off the bout and called the ringside physician into the ring to attend to the fallen challenger.
With the victory, Ryan closes out 2010 by improving his unblemished record to 16-0. Ryan will be in the mix with the top contenders in the division in 2011 as continues to climb the rankings to an eventual title shot that is getting ever closer.

On Wednesday evening Ryan was honored by The St. Charles Division Ancient Order of Hibernians for his accomplishments in the ring and in the community. Ryan was the proud recipient of the inaugural Cu' Chulainn Award given annually to the Irishman of distinction.

Ryan was recognized by his fellow Irish brethren following the biggest win of his career on August 7th where he captured the WBC U.S. National Title. In addition to this distinguished honor, Ryan was issued a proclamation of achievement by Mayor Patty York of the City of St. Charles. Ryan takes great pride in his Irish heritage and in representing his hometown community of St. Charles. It was an evening to remember hosted by a first class organization and a his hometown community. Ryan 'The Irish Outlaw' Coyne has officially partnered with Pound 4 Pound by signing an exclusive management agreement with the Midwest's premiere boxing management organization. Earlier this month Ryan acquired the U.S. National title and a top 10 world ranking.

Irish Outlaw scores spectacular knockout in St. Louis homecoming!

On Saturday August 7th at Gateway to Greatness at the Scottrade Center, Ryan 'The Irish Outlaw' Coyne registered the biggest win of his career. Coyne brought the sell out crowd to it's feet with a scintillating one punch knock out of fellow undefeated cruiserweight Warren 'The Hitman' Browning.
The bout looked to pack some fireworks as both competitors entered the bout by laying their undefeated records on the line. Browning, a career heavyweight, made his debut in the cruiserweight division and looked to use his natural size advantage to spoil the homecoming of St. Louis' favorite Irish son. Ryan knowing that this would be the biggest fight to date in his career looked to utilize his superior speed, experience, and trademark ring tenacity.
The Irish Outlaw got off to good start knocking his hulking opponent to the canvas on an equilibrium shot with his vintage right hook. Browning, beat the count. Not visibly hurt Browning survived the round and upped the ante, launching powerful uppercuts and hooks.
Browning had no intention of being a stepping stone for the undefeated hometown kid, and looked to impose his physicality, while Ryan met the challenge head on with razor sharp precision shots and combination punching.
As the bout neared the midway point, Ryan tipped the scales in his favor with a hell-acious liver shot that had Browning badly hurt and effectively halted his offensive output. Browning would survive the round, but from that point on it looked as if survival was the best the undefeated Hitman could hope for.Coyne kept the pressure on his game opponent who continued to look for the home run shot. Ferocious body work and a barrage of speed further punished the rugged Browning. To Browning's credit he fought on bravely, but he was outgunned by his opponents bottomless gas tank.As the 8th round got under way Coyne stepped on the gas pedal. A blistering overhand left from Coyne sent gobs of Vaseline, sweat, and blood flying from the Hitman's head into press row much to the delight of the frenzied capacity hometown crowd.By this point Browning was in bad shape, and as the bell sounded to end the 8th round Browning was in bad shape as he staggered back to his corner.Browning looked as if he may quit on his stool between rounds, but to his credit he had no intention of losing his undefeated record without a battle and perhaps unwisely he answered the bell for the 9th stanza. Unfortunately, for Browning the Irishman across from him sensed that his prey was wounded and moved in for the kill.Coyne unleashed a pair of sapping right hooks to the body as he stalked his opponent into the neutral corner before the unleashing the thrilling finale. That finale came in the form of a laser guided overhand left hand from The Irish Outlaw directly to the chin of Browning. The shot dropped Browning face first to the canvas like a falling oak. He remained crumpled in the corner for several seconds before making an ill advised Trevor Berbick like attempt to rise to his feet. As Browning rose to his feet, only to fall immediately back into the ropes, referee Mike England took one look at the googly eyed Browning and immediately called a halt to the bout.The Irish Outlaw was overcome with joy as he capped off the victory with a celebratory leap into the arms of trainer Jose Ponce.
With the impressive knockout victory Coyne improves to 15-0 (5 KO's), and claims the prestigious WBC's United States National Championship.

Ryan a former hero of the gridiron (Mizzou linebacker), a reality TV star(The Contender), and now a national champion cracks the top 15 world rankings in his impressive ascension and solidifies himself as a force to be reckoned with in the cruiserweight division.

Don King Productions has announced that Ryan 'The Irish Outlaw' Coyne 14-0 will square off against Warren 'The Hitman' Browning 12-0 of London, KY in his August 7th feature bout in St. Louis on the HBO under card of Devon Alexander 'The Great!'

Ryan takes on a tough opponent, as Browning a career heavyweight, makes the move down to cruiser weight in hopes of derailing the Irish Outlaw's run to the title in his hometown, while Ryan has his own designs to whack The Hitman. Irish Outlaw returns on world title double header in St. Louis!

Following the unfortunate postponement of Ryan's June 12th bout, Don King Productions announced that Ryan 'The Irish Outlaw' Coyne will return to action August 7th at the Scott Trade Center in Ryan's hometown of St. Louis. Ryan will appear in a special attraction on the under card of fellow St. Louisan and Junior Welterweight champion of the world Devon Alexander 'The Great' who headlines the HBO card. Also, on the card is the IBF Light heavyweight title fight between the current champ big punching Tavoris Cloud and former champion Glen 'The Road Warrior' Johnson. Ryan is primed to shine at this big event, and looks to continue climbing the rankings en route to a title shot of his own in the near future. Ryan 'The Irish Outlaw' Coyne has kicked his training camp into high gear as he prepares for his much awaited return to the ring on June 12th at Chaifetz Arena on the campus of St. Louis University.

This past Saturday the Irish Outlaw had The Grip Agency and Greedy Genius in the house to cover the action as he mowed through his trio of sparring partners. After logging 12 rounds of solid work, Ryan looks primed for an explosive performance where he will be co-featured with fellow St. Louisan and current world champion Cory 'The Next Generation' Spinks.

Fight fans were in for a treat Wednesday May 12th at Chaifetz Arena as colorful boxing promoter Don King announced the June 12th ring return of one boxing's hottest rising stars and St. Louis' own Ryan 'The Irish Outlaw' Coyne. Ryan will be featured in the 10 round co feature of the world title fight with Five-time world champion and current International Boxing Federation junior middleweight champion Cory “The Next Generation” Spinks (37-5, 11 KOs) who takes on IBF No. 1-ranked mandatory challenger Cornelius “K9″ Bundrage (29-4, 17 KOs).

Ryan addressed those in attendance I love fighting in my hometown, especially with heroes of mine like Cory Spinks. I fought in the first boxing match at Chaifetz Arena, and now I’ll be fighting as part of the first world championship card at the arena. I look forward to showing everyone that I am a force to be reckoned with in the cruiserweight division. I was on the recent card where Devon Alexander defeated Juan Urango to become a unified world champion. I love that. I am all about St. Louis and being part of the fight scene here. I’m still undefeated and soon I am going to get the chance to prove I am worthy of being in my own world championship match.”

Ryan's opponent will be announce in short order as he looks to move 15-0 and solidify himself in the world rankings. With powerhouse promoter Don King firmly committed to promoting the former Contender star Coyne, a world title shot could loom just around the corner.

Legendary promoter Don King will host a press conference to announce the return of hometown star Cory Spinks to defend his IBF junior middleweight championship against IBF No. 1-ranked mandatory challenger Cornelius Bundrage on June 12 at the beautiful Chaifetz Arena at 2PM.

King will announce undefeated St. Louis cruiserweight contender Ryan 'The Irish Outlaw' Coyne 14-0, who will be the featured supporting bout of the evening in a 10 round co-main event. Ryan has made an impressive ascent through the ranks and has become a top threat in the division.

Ryan always looks for the best in the business even if it means a temporary cross over to work with one of MMA's best. Big thanks go out to Robbie for the great work! Coming off his recent victory on March 6th at the Mohegan Sun which saw Ryan extend his perfect record to 14-0.. Ryan used his free time to embrace his Irish heritage. Irish Outlaw scores big win at the Mohegan Sun!

Ryan Coyne continued his winning ways this past Saturday on the HBO Boxing After Dark under card which featured world champion and fellow St. Louisan Devon Alexander. Coyne squared off against the rugged power punching Paul Jennette(11-2) and improved his spotless record to 14-0. Coyne blistered the very awkward Jennette throughout the 8 round affair badly hurting his foe down the stretch en route to a unanimous decision victory. This past Saturday Ryan 'The Irish Outlaw' Coyne held his final sparring session at SWEAT Pound 4 Pound boxing gym in Clayton, MO under the watchful eye of trainer Jose Ponce. Ryan 'The Irish Outlaw' Coyne was deep into training camp for a bout on March 19th when he got the call from Don King Productions that he was being moved to theundercard of a higher profile HBO world title bout featuring stablemate and fellow St. Louisan Devon 'The Great' Alexander. The change in date and venue was a bit of a curveball for the undefeated cruiserweight prospect, but as he said, " I live in the gym. My life revolves around getting a phone call like this. I was euphoric, ecstatic. I would have taken the fight if it was the next day!" Ryan puts his undeafeted record on the line against Paul Jennette a power punching veteran from North Carolina who boasts a record of 11-2. Ryan 'The Irish Outlaw' Coyne remained undefeated and improved to 13-0 in his campaign in the cruiserweight division Saturday night at Chaifetz Arena. Coyne bloodied and battered the game, but clearly out gunned Larry Jarrett from pillar to post in front of a frenzied contingent of hometown fans. Most in attendance wondered how the grizzled tough guy fighting with a broken nose and several cuts made it to the final bell. The 20 fight veteran, Jarrett, had never been stopped in his professional career and was determined to make it to the final bell. With the victory The Irish Outlaw puts himself into position for a major fight in the fall. Stay tuned to for details.

Saturday June 13th was my first fight back in St. Louis since my appearance on The Contender and subsequent victory on the finale at The MGM Grand. I was able to score a highlight reel knockout with a brutal uppercut in the 4th round. I recently fought on the undercard of The Contender Finale at the MGM Grand Theatre in Foxwoods, CT. I took on the rough and tumble 'Relentless' Richard Gingras (8-1). Richard is a tough kid with an aggressive style, however his stalking style proved to be too little as I picked him apart with superior hand speed and combination punching while cruising to a unanimous decision victory. With the win I move to a perfect 11-0, and #15 ranking in the U.S.A. 2009 figures to be a big year that will continue to see The Irish Outlaw transition from Contender to Champion!
